      Created mural for First Congregational Church of Montclair, Creation Room.

2015

      Exhibited 3 illustrations at The Montclair Art Museum in show celebrating students of "Writing and Illustrating Books for Children."


2016 :

  • Conducted "The Mouse Project", creating over 366 drawings, paintings or collages of mice.
  • Exhibited "Mousekin" illustrations and prints at fundraiser for Friends of Bellevue Avenue Library
  • Exhibited Mousekin drawings at the Fall Art Walk in Montclair/First Congregational Church
  •  Illustrated cover for Arts section of the Montclair Times (April 27, 2016)
  •  "Crow with Pear & Mouse" accepted to juried fund-raiser/auction at Chimtimini WildlifeRehabilitation Center in Corvallis, Oregon

  • Created picture puzzles and note cards from Mousekin artwork
  • Created a Christmas Tree ornament based on Mousekin

Science Teacher, The Montclair Kimberley Academy, Montclair, NJ    1996 - 2009
Served as team leader, advisor and 5th Grade Science Teacher for approximately 65 children annually.
Developed curriculum including backward designed units and accompanying assessment tools. Taught
and/or developed units including: trees and forests/rain forests, marine biology, solar energy, astronomy,
Mars terraforming, ornithology, plant growth and reproduction, insects, chemical reactions.
    
Associate Professor /Natural Resource Education, University of Florida, Gainesville, FL   1984-1996
Developed programs and materials for teachers, leaders and the general public on natural resource
topics. Served as State Coordinator for Project Learning Tree and served on national writing teams to
revise PLT environmental education materials. Taught Environmental Education for graduate and
undergraduate students and Natural Resource Communications for undergrads. Served as Director of
The Center for Environmental Education
. Wrote and illustrated Extension publications on forestry and
natural resource topics. Advised undergraduate and graduate students seeking careers in Environmental
Education. Seconded to USDA and American Forests in Washington, D.C. and served on U.S.D.A. Forest
Service Task Force for Natural Resource Education.
  
Assistant Professor/Forestry Extension, Penn State University, University Park, PA  -  1982-1984
Wrote, edited and illustrated a series of informational publications, exhibits and slide shows for forest
landowners. Organized and conducted in-service training for Extension agents. Conducted Youth Forestry
Camps for teenagers considering forestry careers. Produced pilot materials for 4-H urban forestry
program and participated in volunteer leadership training in forestry and wildlife.
    
State Extension Forestry Specialist, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA  1981
Organized and conducted state-wide Extension forestry education program. Conducted workshops and
short courses and prepared multi-media exhibits on forestry topics, responded to public inquiries by
phone and in writing, wrote and illustrated publications on forestry topics for general audiences.
    
4-H Environmental Coordinator, Massachusetts 4-H Youth Center, Ashland, MA 1973-1974
Developed Environmental Education program for young people. Coordinated daily workshops and
conducted training sessions for staff and leaders of youth groups. Developed plans for an outdoor
classroom at the center. Wrote, illustrated and produced area trail guide. Conducted training sessions for
Conservation Commission interns on forestry, ecology and natural history.
